Does an email receipt violate opt in guidelines?

If you have a contact page that provides an email receipt, does that violate spam guidelines?

In other words, there is a form on a page. When a person fills it out, the system sends an email receipt to the email address they entered.

(The site is almost entirely US based)

Despite its name, the CAN-SPAM Act doesn’t apply just to bulk email. It covers all commercial messages, which the law defines as “any electronic mail message the primary purpose of which is the commercial advertisement or promotion of a commercial product or service,” including email that promotes content on commercial websites.

if you read the section under the first question - "How do I know if the CAN-SPAM Act covers email my business is sending?" - you'll see that these emails are likely considered transactional (vs commercial) and therefore exempt.
