I block bots from my site except the major SE's. So that means I block Baidu, the Chinese SE bot. I just discovered they have a page where they warn potential advertisers that before they advertise to China, they should make sure their sites are actually visible to China, since the Chinese government censors many sites. (They don't use such direct language, of course; they just say that many sites are "blocked at the national level".)

They then give an example of a bunch of inaccessible sites, with my site among them. Baidu thinks I'm blocked by the Chinese government, but in fact I'm the one who's blocking Baidu.

Well, China might actually block me (I don't know), but I doubt it. My most popular content is about saving electricity and buying a house, not very subversive.
