How to write HTML text common to all pages?

Hi all,

I have a website with common left, right and bottom areas.

How can I write my HTML pages so that I can change any of these three common areas only once?.

I do not want to change hundreds of web pages every time I need to change the common areas.

Currently I am using FrontPage Templates, but I am not sure if Templates are SEO friendly.

Is there any other way to do that?

PHP includes, Dreamweaver and Expression Web Templates each work like you wish. There is no problem with SEO but should be taken into account as repeated text and links throughout a site.

Second point first: Any template is only as SEO friendly as you make it ;-)

If it's a purchased template it should have provisions for header, footer, right and left sidebars (or whatever combination is used) to be included in each served page by either the "Include Page" or "Include Border" functions.

You can easily build a simple template yourself by creating the common "pages" you need and using either of the two include techniques.

Expression Web has a more powerful templating system so you might consider an upgrade from FP.
