Hello,

We would like to create blog style wiki for our site. I mean, the content of the blog wont be regular update about our site, instate it will discuss about various things about the product we sell.

So far we came across two options 1. Wordpress 2. Blogger.com

Although blogger.com stopped FTP publish to other hosting companies, we still prefer to use blogger.com for this purpose.

We plan to create a subdomain http://wiki.example.com and redirect to our blogger account.

The blogger account will be crossed link to our site and vise versa.

We are still wondering what could be the impact from SEO point of view? Do you think it would be better to have a wordpress install in our hosting account?

Thank you,

IMO, a blog on own domain would help in SEO efforts for the site as it would add a lot of content on regular basis and all the in links to the blog pages from other sites would add to the overall domain links.

While, a sub-domain would help in capturing multiple listings on the SERP's.

I agree with Ankit, blog hosted on your own domain will be more advantageous that creating sub-domains. And if Im not mistaken, Google has announced the limit of subdomains appearing on SERPS.

I have tried subdomains before and from my experience, subfolders work best for SEO purposes

cheers!
