how pull from db and get rank?

I have a web directory that uses php. The files are all .php and get NO rank or favor in the search engines. Do you have any suggestions other than manually updating?

One of my competitors has the following?

http://www.example.com/sample.nsf/sample/sample.html

you have to use technique of URL rewriting with the help of developer. All dynamic/query string related URLs can convert in static URL or your desirable URL.

the fact that php is used by the server to assemble the content or that the url has any particular file extension has no bearing in ranking.

Since you can rewrite anything to "look" static, there is no point in doing just for the file extension since search engines know this and don't give one an advantage over the other. However if you want to add keywords to the URL, that could have some small benefit to you. Or if your URL is very long or packed with query parameters, it may also help from the human perspective.

I would argue that the file extension stops the bot from making up more versions of the URL.
http://www.example.com/example
bot spin:
http://www.example.com/example/
http://www.example.com/example/index.php

index.php (or asp) becomes the page for everything

the correct way to respond to any non-canonical requests is to provide a 301 Moved Permanently HTTP response code and a Location: header that redirects to the canonical url.
