Hi webmasters, I took the time to search before posting this but no luck so far. Wanna discuss this? some help will be appreciated:

I manage several sites and 2 of them are Wordpress blogs. Wordpress pings services to notify of new content. I'm having my content on Google 5 minutes right after I publish it on these 2 blogs (both are little projects, nothing big).

I have other websites with more traffic and enjoying good positions on SE's but they need more than 24 hours to get the new page indexed, except from one site that gets crawled very often, but this is the result of SEs determining that the site should be indexed more often.

I built my own CMS and works great, I won't move to Wordpress or any other. My own tool serves me well for my projects and I want to implement the ping feature but after searching and searching I don't really get how. I'm interested on doing it via PHP or Perl. Any ideas? I already took a look at the wordpress code and some other scripts flying around but no luck so far. There are some solutions requiring installing extra packages, but Wordpress works right out of the box so perhaps php would suite me well.

The scripts I've found only send the url and website name to the services, anyway is not working. Any help or suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks

Does your CMS have an RSS feed? If you have this then you can put updated content in the RSS feed and use ping-o-matic, etc. in the same way Wordpress does.
