Iceland looks to serve the world

Iceland now wants banks of servers instead of just banks

In Iceland, with its year round cool climate and chilly fresh water, just a fraction of this energy for cooling is needed. It means big savings.

Just outside Reykjavik, work is well advanced on the first site which its owners hope will spark a server cold rush.

I'd be concerned about all the earthquakes. Iceland it quite active geologically.

Isn't too much ice and snow also bad.. what about heating requirements in winter.. How expensive is that?

Anyone know, ideal ambient temp. of a server farm..

Even if you situated the servers on Neptune (not good for latency times) you would only need insulation, never additional heating.
