Video Game Site - Has Traffic, No Money Generated

Problem with a site that gets traffic but no clicks.

I have owned a video game site for the past year. I have had great success in getting traffic whenever I want. I was up near 10k in uniques per day at one point, but stopped updating the site since it was only paying me a whopping $1 a day.

I have played with the ad color, style, positioning, etc. Right now it's as optimized as I can get it (I believe). But with the nature of video gamers, they just get their info then bounce. I have tried to get a few CPM advertisers, but they aren't interested in running ads on a video game site.

I am struggling to monetize the site to a level where it's worth upkeep. Does anybody have suggestions on how to work better in a niche where visitors just don't click ads? I'm looking for advertiser recommendations that may work better, not advice on design or ad positioning.

Thanks for any help.

Have you tried affiliate ads for video game stores? That would be worth a try. Or ringtones or other things that young people are into?

Hmm. This is the kind of 'no brainer' idea I guess I need. I've been stuck on finding some type of CPM ads to run. I do have CJ account that I haven't had much luck with in the past, but I haven't given it a shot on the gamer site.
