301 Redirect old site domain to different site domain

I just cancelled a hosting plan for www.adjective-domain.com and want to do a 301 redirect of the site to www.domain.com
How do I do this? The www.adjective-domain.com site is already gone. Do I just change the DNS or ? to get it to redirect?
Simple instructions please.
