Hi-- I have a client who wants large-scale email hosting, naturally at a low price. I was thinking either Google Apps or a hosted Zimbra system. I've used both, but never used Zimbra in a real "production" environment. I'm gonna use a hosted service, so I'm not too worried about the server admin aspect, but I'm hoping some of you might have some input on how it stacks up against a MS Exchange system and the Google Apps I mentioned from an end-user's view.

Thanks

Google is free and very reliable. Haven't heard of zimba.

thanks max-- google is $50/year for the commercial side, and I'd need that since we're talking several hundred addresses.

While I absolutely love Google Apps, I would say that Zimbra too is a tested enterprise system.

AFAIK, Alibaba too uses Zimbra for their users' email.

thanks ashish--

I think there's quite a few large universities using zimbra at this point. I'm pretty sure a decent hosting provider will run it well. I'm still just looking for anyone who has experience with both in a production env. who has ideas on how they measure up.

thanks!
