The server my main site is on underwent a ddos attack on the 25th. It is a shared server. I don't think my site was the target. however, it is suffering b/c of it. Normally average around 6-700 visits a day. Stats since then 25th-350 visits, 26th-181 visits, 27th-440 visits.

It looked like things were getting better yesterday but a site monitoring service I use is showing the site can't be connected to again. I've talked to support and they want IP's that can't access the site b/c they might be getting caught in the firewall. This seems absurd to me as how can I get IP's of customers who can't access the site?

Is this something to "wait out" or should I switch servers?

Well if they have had a ddos attack I guess a monitoring service might get banned in the aftermath as what it is doing is essentually a small scale version of the attack to see if the site is up or not.

I understand that but like I said visits are WAY down and in turn so is $$. Is this something that usually clears in a few days or is it months?

They offered to switch me to a different server but if I don't have to move than I won't. Not sure if I should stay or go as traffic is essential(obviously).
