How do we know if we are on the right track on developing a new site?
I would like to get a rough estimate and roughly predict on how much the site will earn in 1-2 years or basically how much traffic I can expect from a search engine such as Google if nothing goes wrong.

So far the site is almost 5 months old and receives 80-110 referrals/day from Google only. Google Image has not yet indexed any image. However, I do hope and expect to receive a decent amount from the Image section because of the number of photos I have uploaded. I update the site every 2-3 days and the site currently has over 2,000 pages (the number of pages include ~ 1300 pages of images alone and the rest is context).
I buy traffic on a daily basis and bring in around 1,000 unique visitors/day. So overall the site has roughly 1,400 unique visitors/day including Search engine traffic and direct visitors and other website referrals.

The first 5 months I was able to receive ~ 100 visitors/day from Google. How does that compare to your traffic for your new site?

Am I on the right track and could I expect to receive 3,000 visitors/daily within 1-2 years? Has anyone experienced similar data?

here's a good link:
[webmasterworld.com...]

It will be drawing between 500 and 2000 referrals a day from search engines.
after a year!

so I guess 100 within the first 5 months isnt bad after all. I put too much time and effort and am really hoping this site takes off! I've spent lots of time, money, effort and wanted to get feedback to make sure im on the right track.
