Using VBScript and Classic .ASP to achieve clean, searchable URLs

Hi there everyone and merry Christmas!

Can anybody help me on this? I am trying to develop a directory of clubs with clean/Search Engine friendly URL's using classic .ASP / VBscript. Firstly... is this possible? I know in the PHP (mod-rewrite) and .NET (ISAPI) it is, but unfortunately my programming skills don't stretch beyond classic .ASP/VBScript ;o(

Basically... when a new club signs up, instead of having unreadable parameters in the URL it would look something like this:

www.example.com/united-states/california/club-name.htm

Anybody know of any techniques to acheive this using VBScript and classic .ASP

Do you have the ability to install programs on your server? If so, you might check out ISAPI re-write

This is very simple using ISAPI Rewrite. You can get a single copy for around $99 I think. If you buy in volume, you can get a discount. This tool is probably one of the best investments you'll ever make for your site.

Unfortunately I don't have access to install programs on the server. I did however come across a commercial link directory script (classic .ASP) that promises SE friendly URL's without the need for a re-writing engine. So... I just thought that there was a workaround that could be coded!?

Decbrad, how you would install this new script ( Classic .ASP ) as you dont have access to install programs on server. Better try to build simple HTML website ;)

Try searching for classic asp url rewrite - I found a blog post that spoke about this. I don't know if it would work in your situation - but it might.
