Ok I have just tested that browser history is used by many sites now to track users. Can anyone suggest how browser history can be made private?

a server can track the history of a browser on that site but you cannot track history on other sites without installing something (a script, image, etc) on the pages being tracked. i'm not aware of any way to access the browser history data from the web page.
