A well known forum (not sure if I can name it on here) in the UK has been closed down. It had some exposure on BBC news a while back. The forum was established to help people fight illegal and unfair bank charges in the UK. Many thousands of people in the UK have been able to claim back charges from banks and other institutions. Anyway they've had a lawyers letter from 1&1 saying that on some threads they are giving advice contrary to UK law.
The owner of the site has decided to take the site down rather than face a legal battle.
It's not clear whether the threads objected to involved advice from the owner of the site, moderators or registered members of the forum.
