i have a flash grapic that i want to incorproate into the "splash" area of our site...

its about 320k... too much?

I would be ok with that for a "splash" type page.

If you find it slow add a small loading image that plays during load time.... people love to see something that indicates that the page is doing something.

Tony do you have access to the source files? Even in this day and age, I still get slam dunked for a 120K main page. If it's possible at all you can take some of your heavier objects and load them externally. It's still 320 K, but you get the framework in and up quickly, if it's appealing enough they might stick around for the ride. Slide shows are a perfect example of this, I have one customer who insists on 700K of images in his Flash slide show, but his Flash object is like 80K and it streams the rest in (still pretty fat.)

Just be sure to put a skip button for grouchy old codgers like myself . . .

Well the spalsh sits right in the middle of the home page.... sorry, didnt clarify that.

so its 320k + home page size... 75k i think...

pushing 400k home page file size... for now....

too much?
