US Search Figures, December 07, Show Google Up To 66%

The latest figures from search market share monitor Hitwise shows Google with a record 66 percent share of Web searches in the United States.
That's up seven percent from a year ago. Meanwhile, Yahoo's share dropped from 21.6 percent to 20.9 percent, Microsoft's dropped from 9.8 percent to just over 7 percent and Ask has risen from 3.7 percent to just over 4 percent.

Personally i don't buy these stats.. i know google is top dog but i know more people who use yahoo/comcast/aol variation than "google" itself.

What are the stats of the absolutely new, never seen before, search queries in Google? I've heard the number several times, but can't find a reference point on the Web.

i know google is top dog but i know more people who use yahoo/comcast/aol variation than "google" itself.

I don't, and my own referrer statistics suggest that the other search engines are like rural poor folk who subsist on the vegetables that AgriCorp's harvesting machines leave behind. Still, Hitwise probably has a better handle on the search engines' market shares than we do.

For keywords with similar ranking across Google, Yahoo and MSN, Google brings me more than 66% of the traffic.

Uh? You must hang out with a specific crowd. Either newbies, senior citizens, soccer moms or something.

Does the stats include searches on parked domains?
Example:
1. Some parked domains contain "Search box".
2. A 2-page lander parked site will display lots of keyword-links when the visitor first lands on the domain. The visitor then clicks on any of the "keyword links" and the feed provider will search and display a list of advertisement related to the keywords.

Do the above count as "searches" and included in the 66% stats?

Totally agree because for some two million monthly visitors in my portfolio, Google share is even larger than this data.

with the visitor tracking satistics of my sites, out of the US visitors who come from search engines google counts for more than 70%

so those figures should be correct
