Now I know this is possibly dependant on industry but I thought it would make for a good discussion.
We have been monitoring our websites for the past year which most of are in the travel industry or ecommerce. The majority of web users that visit these website are spending 0-10 seconds on the sites and then leaving. We are using Urchin webstats to monitor this.
So how does everyone else feel about this? What are their stats saying?
Is there a formal source eg Nielson ratings that could give us more concrete information on what the average length of time a visitor is spending on sites.
All our sites produce good sales regardless of this seemingly low figure.
If you go into the Vistors section and look at Length of Visit, you can get a better idea of the average time for those that don't bounce.
