The argument that the purveyor of damage has to make money holds little sway with the end consumer.
Sort the ad industry out so that banners etc are certifiably safe then damage blockers will no longer need a blanket ban -- they can just ban the uncertified one.
This is a problem and and opportunity for the ad industry. If your livelihood depends on it, you have a good incentive to bring it to the urgent attention of your professional trade organizations.
