I don't POP my mail. I use too many computers, and also I find it easier to search for old emails using gmail search.
I find that due to computer turnover, emails have a longer life if I keep them online.

I have thousands of e-mails backed up on Gmail.

I also use POP to write my mail as it is more flexible but I send and receive everything through Gmail and store an extra copy there.

No. Maybe I should, but I just can't get worked up about that.
However I am acutely aware that if my account disappeared, there's nothing I could do about it.

Not in the least.

I have nothing to hide. If they want to see how many reservations I have or the answers to thousands of dumb questions from people who can't read then they are welcome to waste their time on it.

I really don't think it is plausible that anyone would have any use for my mail.

The way i see it, whenever i send or receive an email, at least two copies are saved somewhere on the internet, one on my side and one on the other party's side. I can control where my copy is stored but not the other. So i assume all my emails are accessible on the net somewhere, can be forwarded to other parties, etc.
