So this is the situation I'm in. I love doing internet marketing - SEO, PPC, some light technology (php/mysql/etc).

I'm building some sites on the side, but they are only growing slowly at the moment - nothing I can count on for income.

My problem is this - all of the "internet marketing companies" that I've considered to work for full-time seem to have either very modest salaries, and almost never room for promotion.

Are there any companies, sectors, or similar fields that people could recommend that could set me on a more solid/stable upward career path?

I definitely would like to branch out on my own, but in the meantime until that's a better possibility, I'd like to find a company where I can work my way up.

I'm open to marketing type jobs, consulting companies, and more.
