Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question, so apologies if so, but maybe somebody can help me.

I am currently trying to source an MS Office document sharing / intranet system for a client. I have trield a few different systems but none seem to be good for the job.

-------------------------------------------------------
Can anybody reccomend a system that may suit my needs?
-------------------------------------------------------

The system we require needs to have and administration area to manage users and their permissions / access to documents.

It needs versioning, so documents can be rolled back, or editing dates viewed easily.

On page editing of documents would be a bonus, but compatability with MS Office documents is essential (ie download / upload from office)

An corporate information page where latest news, important announcements, and other sections such as corporate info can be posted.

Email system to allow bulk email of notifications to users.

-------------------------------------------------------

I am also deploying an ezPublish CMS , and realise that ezPublish has Intranet capabilities using webDAV server, for direct document upload and file versioning. I know that this system would give me all the functionality I need but I have no experience in webDAV and have heard from other consultants that it can be a very hit and miss system. (Also difficult to deploy)

I have also trialed Google Apps, but there is no user permission control and the online editor seems very buggy.

I have trialed Zoho writer, but the document sharing seems only to be managed through email - (whats the point in that?) and also no user permission management.

WebOffice, seems very good and offer all the functionality I need, also there is no / little deployment required. The problem is though - the cost, for the number of users I require would cost near $10,000 a year.

-----------------------------

So any ideas? A cheap version of WebOffice would be ideal.

Have you looked into a hosted Sharepoint solution?
