Following on from a previous post, I am now looking at changing from shared hosting with my current hosts to shared hosting with a new company that offer a dedicated IP.

What I wanted to know is, what would the reason be for my current hosts not offering a dedicated IP - isn't there any real advantage? All they kept offering me was a fully dedicated server - and I'd have no idea how to manage this.

I have searched online for UK hosts offering dedicated IPs as part of their shared hosting but haven't had much luck.

This leaves me wondering - should I stick with sharing an IP with 200+ other sites, go to a completely dedicated server or keep looking for a shared host who offer a dedicated IP?

I just did a search for .uk vps and found hosts offering dedicated IP's.

(vps = Virtual Private Server)
