Question About Visual Basic, Access and PHP and MySQL

Could an VB program be accessed by the web in a PHP environment?

Hello there!

I´ve been asked to create a little program for a guy that is managing two condominiums. He´s using Access to manage all their accounting stuff, expenses, etc.
He´s using it in a very simply way, no Macros, nor programming knowlege of any kind.

So, I´ve decided to create something similar as the program he´s used to manage, and I thought of Visual Basic, and working with his Access tables.

The thing is that I would like that people in their buildings could connect to those databases using his website (in Drupal, a CMS that works with MySQL and PHP).

Could this kind of stuff coexist?

I don´t know nothing of Visual Basic myself, so I´ve must start from the very beggining. I´m willing to do it, but I would like to know that Visual Basic can coexist in a Drupal environment. Maybe I´m talking of putting together oranges and apples, and maybe that´s not even possible.

Any thoughts about this? Could I just work with Access withouth VB? (I dunno, because I need to create a non-tech-user friendly environment).

Thanks in advance for your help and tips!

If you need to create nice some macros in a MS environment then you need VB

However you mentioned MySQL and PHP
so why do you want using VB?

PHP and MySQL will be more than enough to power your need and make whatever you want to be web accessible and manageable, further importing Access to MySQL is very easy.

If my suggestion makes sense
You might want asking a moderator to move your post in the PHP section

Thanks henry!
Yes, your suggestion makes a lot of sense to me!
I wanted to use VB to create an offline environment and then, maybe the admin could connect to the internet, and update the Access database to a Mysql database online, so the landlords could check their rent status...
The need to use VB and Access is that I´m already familiarized with Access, but cannot program in MySQL... yet.
And I need to start this project as soon as possible.
Thanks again!
