Hi. Long time lurker, first time poster. And of course my first post is a problem. Here it is...

In site: search my index page is showing but also my index page with a?ref string. I don't know how it got there.

When I search for the referrer (sevsevil.com) I get lots of other sites pages that have it as a?ref but no information about it.

I'm assuming it will cause duplicate content problems and I also assume that I can get rid of it with a 301. But before I do that I would like to know a bit more about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some reading:
Query string redirect
[webmasterworld.com ]

Drop a query string from a url
[webmasterworld.com ]

Hi Longen,

Thanks for that. I managed the 301's ok, but I would be interested in knowing more about this particular referrer. There are lots of sites showing in google for this referrer, even some WW pages.
