I was contacted by a company called www.wantedpronto.com (not sure if its UK only).

They bill themselves as the "world's first wanted engine".

On their homepage you type in whatever quote you need (e.g. loan), then select a category (e.g. secured loan) - then you fill out a form with the necessary details.

Signed up suppliers can then look at the leads that come in - but have to pay to actually get the clients contact information. Leads start of expensive, then get cheaper as time goes by. Up to 3 suppliers can pay for the contact details.

I'm not particularly convinced that it's suitable for my particular industry (travel) though I could be mistaken.

An interesting bit is that they do "Domino streams" whereby if someone asks for a quote on estate agents, they'll prompt the user at a later date to ask about mortgages etc.

They have a worldwide patent pending - perhaps to stop other sites taking quotes and selling them to suppliers in this way?

Well I'm not sure about their claim to be first.
I can think of at least one other.
That is "ask for a quote and we will get one back to you" with suppliers paying for access to leads.

To be perfectly honest I wasn't particularly taken by the fact that they're trying to patent something that's little more than common sense (assuming that I've understood their patent right - which I may or may not have).
