forgive me if this has been asked before.. but out of boredom i read up a bit on the recent happenings with registerfly.

although i've never worked with them before, i can't help but get an eerie sense from the whole situation and wonder how safe my domains truely are.

is there anything we can do to protect our domains? it seems going for an "icann accredited registar" doesn't mean much nowadays, if registerfly had ever been "accredited"

i generally renew my domains once a year, normally a month prior to expiry. does this make any difference versus pre-paying for a whole 10 years?

say i registered with regstar:x for the next 10 years (pre-paid)... should situations go sour with them, what happens with my domain? do i lose the pre-paid months?

See my response to the "ICANN termination" thread on the Domain Names forum. There are a few things you can do.
