How, where does one sell a website? Are their places where you can list it to give others an opportunity to bid on it? I know you can do that for domain names, but I'm considering selling a site with a lot of content.

if it is actually producing pretty good income and making a profit, try bizbuysell - will usually sell for 2-4x trailing 12 month net cash flow.
if it is producing very little income, then try the forums at sitepoint or #*$! where the TOS permit you to post sites for sale.

webmasterads is a possible option. It is a trading forum for buying and selling sites, domains etc.
