I have had an interesting idea about offering shares in our company through our website for people that promote our services accross the internet.

Not quite sure how to implement this though. Example how do I know which people were told by RICHARD to come to our website. Only way I can think of is field in form.

Where did you hear about us?

I want something abit more technical though any thoughs and suggestions?

the field is one part, the other is to capture referers, though they aren't 100%.

You can write it into a hidden field in your form.

(Marketers speak up here) Isn't this basically an affiliate link program?

If you are talking about having these shareholders link to you, you start an affiliate link scheme where the link they post to your site has their affiliate id in the uri. Then you read in the uri and you know where it's coming from.

If the referral is offline or involves a form, yes, you would need some sheme of having them enter the affiliate id or name. The down side is, any time you put it up to your users to do something, they will find a way to screw it up. :-)

Thanks so far.

The site would not start generating that much money to start off with. So what would you suggest I could offer my users?

Its a free service and we also require some Administrators working for the site for free.
