I have a site offering "widget" services to all types of clients - ie: young people, professionals, etc etc.

I am considering launching 2 new sites dedicated specifically to certain types of "widget" services rather than using one site to target a general market.

What I was wondering is, is this OK? Will it be considered spammy? I will not link the sites together and will design all the sites differently.

I wouldn't consider it spammy, but if you want to read up on the latest hype then check out the home page thread:

As long as you can point to clear, concrete marketing differences between the sites, I wouldn't consider it spammy either.

We sell the same product to three different market segments on three separate domains and they all rank well. The sites all have different markup structures. The content is targeted to the specific market. The pictures are the same, but the file names and alt tags are different.

They have one link on a deep page to the other two market segments and the domain names are similar www.companynamemarket.com.

No problems.
