Forum Moderators: phranque
They used to have to separate domains:
www.a.com
www.b.com
They now have:
www.a.b.com
Four level domains aren't too popular, so I'm wondering if there is going to be a problem with this. Is there any real different, from an SEs perspective, to a.b.com and www.a.b.com?
Ultimately, the choice is yours, but whatever you choose, stick to it 100%, and 301 from www.a.com and www.b.com to whatever you choose.
And 301 from the one you didn't choose to the one you did choose.
But if you have no choice, be kind to your user's fingers and drop the www.
www is an anachronism. I wish webmasters would stop, already! It serves NO purpose. Do a 301 redirect so that you don't lose users that insist on typing-in "www".
