I need help/guidance for my website.
I am running my website since 5 months and it is specific to Users in USA.
Now I wanted to start newer version of same site with websiteName.co.uk
(existing is websiteName.com)
For starting .co.uk of my site:
1) Should I have independently hosted application?
2) Or Should I create a sub folder inside existing project and point websiteName.co.uk to websiteName.com/UK/
3) Are there any other approach to handle my situation and what are pros & cons of it?
4) How does SEO of both projects get into picture, does it get affected?
5) Is something like [uk.WebsiteName.com] help in my case?
6) Please suggest what topics should I refer before making decision?
I am not really aware of what are all best options for my situation. I will appreciate if someone can guide me.
Thanks again.
having two sites multiplies marketing, development and SEO by two.
It also adds in a major risk of duplicate content problems, and a risk of user confusion (especially if there are links between them).
Though it depends what you are selling, in most cases, one English language site will meet most people's needs, and with careful planning, it's a winner all round.
