According to wikipedia here:
[en.wikipedia.org...]
Blogger is a social networking site. As well as other blogging sites.

As far as I'm know, Blogger and bloging sites are no more social places than a bunch of people dumped in a plane or bus.
There's no real interaction between people, other than comments, what else? Anyway comments can be done anonymously, so, where's the social network?

I guess this is an opinion question that starts at how you define a social network. According to Webster's New Millennium Dictionary, a social network is:

a website where one connects with those sharing personal or professional interests, place of origin, education at a particular school, etc...

I would have to say that this is pretty close to my definition. And also, you cannot possibly say that you need to know personal information about someone to be social with them . Look at what we're doing now! ;)

I would also tend to consider blogger as a social network site - I agree with fischermx that the anonymous comment option makes it in theory not more than a collection of websites with guestbooks, but practically speaking, people normally interact, post with their signature and cross-link actively.

So I think in practice blogger fulfills the criteria to qualify as a social networking site, I think.
