Hosting User Blogs?

I was wondering if there was any way possible to host my own users blogs. Somehow I would like to have a free php script that allows my users to sign up for a blog that it hosted on my site. Then, all of my users can view eachothers webblogs on my site. Anything like this? Will word press do this?

I don't want seperate categories for posts, I want whole seperate blogs for each user.

Somehow I want a community script that will allow each member to upload text whenever he or she pleases, and then all the other members can view it.

I want this to be a dog sledding training center, where users can view eachothers training logs.

Thanks,

Christian

A number of CMS packages have this functionality built-in. Try some of the open source portal software like Drupal.

There is multiuser versions of wordpress. Wordpress MU is one, Lyceum is another. Both in beta though, but they'll do what you describe :)

You can do a nice service in php combined with mysql. Think about it.

Could you explain a little more about the php and mysql? How do you think I should go about doing that?
