I'm looking for some type of remote access software that can update the screen on the client pc quick enough so that I can watch live video etc - across my home network.

I use a tablet pc and wander about the house with it. I want to be able to log into my desktop using it - and use the desktop just as though I was sitting there. I.e. access my email, bookmarks, watch bbc news clips, watch a dvd (in my desktops drive), watch freeview (only attached to the desktop).

Does anyone know if such software is available, in development or even possible?

-Mircosoft Remote Desktop doesn't work as it simply refuses to play video.
-All the remote software I've tried (logmein, Radmin) doesn't have fast enough updating to watch video on.

At the moment I'm forced to use a hybrid approach that's just annoying - having to go through the home network to open up videos, dvds etc - and then having to switch to Radmin to use the desktop "as though I was sitting there in front of it".

Aside from being annoying, this approach doesn't allow me to watch freeview tv - which is only attached to my desktop and can only be watched from it (doesn't work across the network) - as the video doesn't update fast enough. I also can't watch video news feeds / tv shows that are on the bbc website (as video isn't transmitted fast enough by any of the many remote software programs I have tried).

I've spent days looking into possible solutions but have yet to find LAN remote access software that can display the exact desktop image (and sound) fast enough to do everything that I want.

If anyone can shed any light onto this or let me know of any developments in this area I would be very grateful :)
