Hi - can't find a hosting sepcific section(?)

Looking at cheaper hosting, and found a host that does it much cheaper.

However, full transfer of domains(s) are £15 but by DNS its free (i.e changing my DNS settings where my domain is currently held.)

Does this affect my search engine rankings (having domain name and hosting in two different places) and will it be slower.

Not sure thats clear - basically just change my DNS settings where domain is now to DNS settings of host.

Right? Good or Bad?

Splitting services over more than one ISP won't hurt rankings and is a common practice. Many site owners register the domainname with one company, do the hosting with a second and use a specialized DNS service provider for the DNS.

Most users won't see any latency. Results of DNS queries are chached in DNS servers around the world and on people's local PC's so there will hardly be a difference.
