Okay, when I try to login into Miscrosoft Outlook to check my emails, I get an immediate prompt to retype my password. It is unable to find the mail server. I looked it up on the Miscrosoft website, and it said that I need this information in my email server.

NTDomain\NTDomainID\ExchangeMailAlias

What is a NT domain, nt domain id, and an exchange mail alias. Could you please show me an example? I am really confused.

Thanks,

kaled

I vaguely recall a problem like this. The cause was using short account names e.g.

server : pop.mydomain.com
account : myname@mydomain.com - OK
account : myname - FAILED

However, without seeing the exact problem, this is just a guess.

Kaled.

I had this problem crop up. I ended up having to reinstall the entire office suite :(

It has been two or three months now, so my memory of the event is faded, but I think it had to do with one of the auto-updates.

Is your LAN account on a domain? Do you have an Exchange server that handles your mail? You didn't tell us what version of Outlook you're using either.

Before OL2002 there was a distinction between Internet Mail Only and Corporate/Workgroup modes. Your setup could be the problem with older versions of Outlook. In the latest version 2003 did you setup your account using the Microsoft Exchange Server option for your e-mail account?
