when www. is typed before the name it doesnt show up
but the domain name without www. shows

I just transfered my domain name to a different server. When I go to www.MYSITE.com it doesnt show up - page not found. but when i just do MYSITE.com without the www. infront it shows up. WHY? how do i fix it?

Server configuration error- need to add www.MYSITE.com to the configuration. It depends on your web server, but it should be a 2-minute fix.

And at the same time, add a 301 permanent redirect from domain.com to www.domain.com

I dont think its that. I called my hosting company and they said they can access it just fine. I tried on a different computer and it works fine too. I deleted all the cookies and temp files from my computer and for some reason on my computer it wont let me access it from www.mysite.com but on others it works.

If you've just transferred to a new server, it's probably a domain name resolution caching issue. If it's just your PC, your local ISP's cache probably hasn't been updated yet - check it again in 24 hours.

Run nslookup and check for mysite.com and www.mysite.com to verify the DNS server your computer is using has the correct data. If not, point to a different DNS server.
