what does traffic ranking mean?

Can anyone tell me what data is used to determine "traffic ranking" on network solutions "whois" searches?

Just wondering.

I really haven't a clue, but my Network Solutions Whois traffic ranking is identical to my Google Pagerank!

Not sure if similar data is used to calculate them, but a few competitors have a Whois traffic rank of 1 and 2, an their Google pageranks are 5 and 6.

Well ... traffic rank for WebmasterWorld is "1". I have no idea what the page rank is. My traffic ranking is also "1". Again, I have no idea about page rank. I am a mac user and we don't have the benefit of toolbars.

I just wondered what it is supposed to indicate?
