I had to temporarily hide 50/100 pages.

Now I renamed them but this way googlebot takes a 404...

Is there a way to tell spider that content will come back soon?

Thx.

Serve a 302 instead of a 404, and point the 302 to a "back soon" page for your site visitors.

You shouldn't have to do this though. What are you trying to do exactly? Why "hide" pages? robots.txt or noindex tags would do the job there.

You shouldn't mess around too much with URL's.

Thx for reply.

How can I do to serve a 302? I have only html hosting support: no php/asp or similar...

The reason is that some pages were indexed by mistake. These pages would have been indexed next month.

Thx in advance.
