Are there any 'boxed' or open source social networking scripts?

I did some research to find a number of boxed scripts for setting up a MySpace.com portal. I found Hotscripts to have two pages of options. Some are primarily designed for dating sites, but can be modified. There are however a number of them that are specifically for building a social networking site. One in particular is available at no charge. They do have a premium membership that provides full support for the application. You can find its homepage at

As far as social networking sites go, they seem to be the big thing these days. I think the waters are becoming a bit diluted though. In another 5 years, they may be less popular.

But you're right: Hotscripts does provide some decent scripts for this.
