Was considering putting it on the homepage but I worry it may slow the page loading time.

If it is not set to "autoplay" there should be no significant delay, it is only a link. Some browsers may use prefetching of content, I would test it using different browsers. Best to set up a temporary test page and run it by the updated page speed tester [webmasterworld.com] to get the "official" answer.

Hi not2easy, I just checked the homepage without the video and it did 4s .. not too bad ..
