image dump not available in universal search

The weeks before Xmas I invested quite some time in bringing my first video to my website. As I had hoped, these days I discovered the video showing up in the organic serps for some relevant keyphrases.

However: The image dump you normally see there said: "Image not available", whereas on the video-search it works perfectly fine.

Any idea what could be the reason?

I found that the thumbnail defined in the video-sitemap actually points to a fairly large picture. Could this be the reason?

Why does it work in the video-search resutls, then, but not the organics? I thought google would create the thumbnails with her own algorithms?

Each Sitemap file that you provide must have no more than 50,000 video items and must be no larger than 10MB uncompressed. An individual video file or thumbnail (specified in the <video:content_loc> and <video:thumbnail_loc> tags, respectively) can be no larger than 30MB. If you have more than 50,000 videos, you can submit multiple Sitemaps and a Sitemap index file.

how large is the file? it can't be over 30mb

Same problem here, any clue on this? Haven't had the problem before with the same sitemap!

Nealrodriguez, it is only one video, so the sitemap is fairly small. The video itself comprises 10 MB and the thumbnail 6 kB.

And as I said, the thumbnail is correctly displayed in google video search but not in the organic's universal search.

I have meanwhile climbed spot #1 with this page (being NOT logged in;), so I assume google values the video of high relevance and quality. But this "image not available-"dummy is an awful deterrer. Any chance to get a google technician have a look at it?

I did NOT submit it to youtube. I am planning to do so with other videos later on, but not with this one, yet.
