Is adding "virtual spokesperson" SEO friendly?

I am thinking of adding virtual spokesperson or online spokesperson to my site. This is an authority in its industry and is ranked top 3. Do you guys think adding such a video which overlaps the content of the site may hurt the SEO? Knowing that Google hates pop-ups.

I don't know if a virtual spokesperson will hurt your SEO or not, but I would take into consideration the fact that not all people will want to see (or hear) sound on the site when they're visiting. Personally i don't find things like this to be very useful overall if i can get the same information via text. And if i can, then i don't really see the point of a redundancy via virtual spokesperson.

Just my thoughts.
