Musk Claims Advertisers Are Trying To Blackmail Him Over X

It what appears to be an outburst Elon Musk said "If somebody’s gonna try to blackmail me with advertising," he told interviewer Andrew Ross Sorkin, "Go f--- yourself."

I'm just wondering where he thinks his comments will leave X as a service. Could he have hastened its demise? I'm not impressed by the ads i'm currently seeing, so is the site under more financial pressure.

people don't give him enough credit, he's added a lot of features making it better than it was. why should users care if companies like disney advertise or not? it doesn't effect their experience

Merely stating a fact, one that will go through the courts, and may have an eventual beneficial effect for other webmasters or owners of "social media".

Might not like the guy, but he does speak his mind and obvious truths.

I've looked at x twitter content in the last couple of days and it's quite acerbic. I wonder if advertisers are purely voting with their feet when they see the content their ads and businesses would be alongside. I know I'd be concerned if it were my business.

I am disappointed with Musk's antics since he bought Twitter.
I expected better but it didn't materialise.
If he wants it to flourish I think he should realise that he should step back before it is too late and allow his CEO to get on with business.

Well, you can either run something as a business, or run it as a vanity projejct, but you can’t readily do both.
