One of Twitter's much maligned changes included automatically defaulting to "For You" where Twitter's algo presented you with what it thought you'd like to see on your timeline. Users had to remember to select "Following" to get back to their followers. The "For You" was much criticised for introducing all kinds of material to as timeline, and much of it was unwanted.

Twitter has relented and now it' defaults to your last set option.

Starting today on web, if you close Twitter on the “For you” or “Following” tabs, you will return to whichever timeline you had open last. iOS and Android coming soon!
