Twitter needs to go away.

A lot of the features Musk is pushing forward at Twitter seem to be all about showing the user how bad Twitter was. To some political commentators, this is gold dust, but to regular users, it really makes no difference. I suggest he "fixes" Twitter how he intends to, but improve it for everyone, not just by calling out former management and employees.

People knowing when they've been marginalized for their opinion, and by whom? Sounds good to me.

It's unrealistic to think you can create an inclusive anything by marginalizing anyone with a different opinion.

Elon can try to fix Twitter, but no matter what he does, he won't fix the division in people. That's up to them, and not marginalizing someone you disagree with is a good start.

I don't agree with his ways, but he owns it and will run it the way he wants.

It would be good to see how he develops it, and, importantly, what, as a service, is helpful.

I agree. The problem is people being marginalized (shadow silenced, excluded from the conversation, etc.) for having a different opinion. We can get along even with different opinions, until "our society" no longer accepts anyone with an unapproved opinion. It's not very inclusive.

Is that really any different from the situation in a pub? I used to go to a pub a few years back and I remember several opinionated people that were often "blanked", especially when they started on certain topics. Their views weren't conducive to pleasant conversation. They were fine until they got on their "topic."
If they wanted to talk about "that topic" they'd end up in their own group.
One observation: They never seemed happy.
