Twitter Blue in the U.S. is to rise from $2.99 to $4.99 per month.
In an email to users, the Twitter Blue team insists the higher rate “helps us continue to build some of the features you’ve been asking for, improve upon the current ones you already love and sustain our mission of supporting journalism.”
Interesting question. Who, here, pays for twitter blue?

Ya --- that's in line with the pay to play paradigm!

i’d happily pay if they just allowed you more than 200 muted words. 200 is nowhere near enough. you need double that at least and if they let you hide tweets of less than 10 characters (i dont want to see a load of thank you tweets and smilie tweets) and if they let you hide all the ‘5 people liked this’ and ‘10 people follow this’ stuff you get on the home feed
theres so much stuff they could easily add that would make it worth the money

^But wouldn't that change the nature of t into something else? What makes t work is the brevity!
