Twitter. automated posting?

OK, so I finally gave in and started using Twitter a little bit.

After a few weeks I've found around 50 people to follow, some I unfollowed already.

A couple of the accounts I follow seem to post every few minutes, 24/7. Quite a lot of repitition in their posts.

Most post maybe 2 - 3 times during the day/evening.

Is there some kind of software/service that generates frequent posts?

I don't want to use such software, but I might want to unfollow accounts that do.

FWIW: I've made maybe 5 tweets.

I use twitterfeed with dot com on the end. It turns your RSS feed (in my case from forums) and auto-posts the title & link. There are other tools as well.

I'm still a bit of a twitter newbie but the my $.02 don't feel like you have to follow people just because they follow you, and don't be afraid to unfollow accounts that tweet too much.

Yeah, lots of people auto-tweet, especially some SEOs with lots of blog content like graywolf. Some don't bother me, others do, kind of a case by case situation for me.

I think where I draw the line is if they auto-tweet but won't ever reply to the topic being discussed as I don't mind if a human is actually in control but if it's a pure marketing branding play then UNFOLLOW.

I find myself unfollowing more and more people who post all the time. It might be good stuff, but seeing them flooding my feed is simply annoying and the good content gets diluted by the many tweets.

I agree, too much posting is dominating the feed. I too stop following those that post too often.

You also have to consider the purpose of the twitter account. Some are marketers, some are 'bots', some are chatty, some are just news feeds.

Some automated posts are from RSS feeds, so as the feed updates, the tweet is sent. With these, you have to decide if the feed is providing you with value.

Automating the feed for a global global audience awake at different times is good practice.
