Hey, I'm looking into doing some Twitter marketing- but wanted to get a feedback first.
Cheers

It sure does work, but you've got to be patient, build your contacts, and don't spam them.
Post interesting and topical information.
Don't forget to interact with your contacts, too. They won't all answer, but if it looks like you're interested in them they will notice.

Hey - Thank you for the feedback - I also heard that you can purchase twitter posts? How does that work? Do I write them, or does the other person?

Bad idea. 1) Quantity does not translate to quality 2) No way to measure ROI 3) Most of "bulk sellers" require your twitter's account credentials, bad , bad, bad! 4) I kept the best for the end, indeed Twitter does not allow it.
As Engine said build your followers slowly. when in return they follow you, use direct thanks message with a dedicated comment about their profile background, web, tweets, comments, etc. make it personal so they will feel enticed to look in depth to your own profile. Be useful and not marketer to the teeth.

Thank you for the reply - so why do you think it is still so popular?

I use it to establish a presence and gain exposure. After a while it becomes easier to select followers and create a mutually beneficial relationship.
To answer your question its success lies on two fronts A) The purely social hype tied to social network. B) What you can gain by using it for your business.

Like any other marketing platform - it depends!

Use it also to do competitive intelligence. Use lists, add them to Hootsuite column and you do not need to follow them to see their topics

Henry, thanks a lot. I an very happy into the forum. The only thing with Tweetdeck is that it is not in the cloud, itīs a desktop software. Plus I cannot access to Linkedin groups as I can from Hootsuite.

I don't use any longer HootSuite, I use the "other guy" that allows for DM to followers. Further building lists upon bookmarks and filter works very well.
